Like much of the rest of the Western world, I watched in horror as a mob of 2,000 - 2,500 supporters of US President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol Building in Washington DC.
This is my response to this action - the juxtaposition of the masks of rioters onto the shoulders of a female nude in a variety of poses. The sinister nature of the protesters' heads contrast sharply with the delicate vulnerability of the nude figure. The only departure is one figure wearing the gas mask provided to the fleeing Members of Congress.
The medium is a mix of trace monotype, pan pastel, chalk, charcoal and dye on hand dyed paper.
